Nothing like an artist’s block to get you thinking. I’ve struggled with this week’s post. I just wasn’t feeling it. I’m still not sure that I am.
When my imagination just won’t work I go to sources. I tried to draw some of my reference photos and just didn’t care. So I drew my sons.
Then I addressed the block directly. One pen, one brick and a piece of paper vs. me.
I took my oldest boy to see the Lego Movie last week and it was a lot of fun. The film was funny and had some good thoughts on playing together with our children.
So the common theme with this week’s post is potential. Two boys that have so much that they could be or grow into and one white brick that could be a part of any world. It could be part of igloo for a Wampa, or part of a wall for a pirate prison, or the sign of a bank or really anything.
The boys doodle looks pretty good. The Lego Movie was fun. I went, but I didn’t have a kid with me, so it probably looked weird.
