Vulnerable

There are more thing in heaven and earth Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies

Vulnerable

Christmas is one of the most important of Christian holidays. It is the story of a God that cared so much for us that he became vulnerable to us. He took on the mantle of human flesh and gave us an opportunity to bruise him, spit on him, kiss him, betray him and love him. He entered human form to heal the rift between us and to give his life to save us. I believe this.

This image is my attempt to distill the story and show only the most vital part- the baby. We are all born naked and wholly dependent on the grace of others. We cannot live without help, but each new child changes the world. The baby is a symbol of vulnerability but it is also one of hope.
