This is my interpretation of the staff of Moses and it was a challenge. I suppose the reason that I chose it is that I have felt like a stutterer in terms of art lately.
Moses complained that he couldn’t be God’s speaker because he wasn’t smooth of tongue. God asked him what he did have and Moses said a staff so God said to throw it down. It became a snake and later split the Red Sea and made a rock gush water.
None of it was the staff. It was all God, but Moses had to do his part by throwing down what he had. So here’s my staff this week. My stuttering offering.
Nice. The background is especially cool.
Thank you. I’m trying to make sure I consider backgrounds when composing because I often only include them as an afterthought. This one was a forethought, but I think it might actually overwhelm the image a bit.
Wow, that is wonderful! I, too, like the background. Crumpled grocery bag??
Actually you’re pretty close. I did the drawing on paper then wrinkled it up and scanned it. Then I messed with curves in Photoshop. It was supposed to be a kind of parched land look.
