Old Man Progress
Just decided to draw this old man, then decided to show the progress.
First scanned, set as Grayscale and adjusted contrast. Then one layer of base color. Add a layer of highlight and shadow. Then a final layer of black & white extreme contrast, with the layer set to Soft Light. That’s how I got there.

This week’s doodles are something I’ve done before and you may be tired of- Heath Huston- and something new that I am working on- Roscoe. Roscoe is just a teaser of something more to come.
Heath is in the style of one Bruce Timm. Roscoe is just the beginning and we’ll see if we can get him in color later.

Won't be needing those anymore
If you have read Doodlehoose for any amount of time you will know that I am a Christian. This week’s doodle is my meditation on Easter.
I wanted to focus on something I hadn’t seen before and to remember that Easter is new life- not the death of Good Friday. So here are the folded grave clothes. Placed with care and not needed anymore. Christian or not I hope you take some time today to celebrate renewal, and hope you enjoyed the illustration.
Here it is the one-page comic that I attempted to get to you last week. It is not what I had in my head, but it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than what I had last week. I noticed in my first TAG! episode that there was very little of Mercury so I thought I would give you a page showing what she was up to right before the mission.
It’s amazing that Doodlehoose is now a year old! I meant to do an illustration of that, but haven’t had the chance. Maybe I should challenge y0u the readers to send me an illustration for our first anniversary.

Last night I had an idea of what I wanted to draw… this is not it. I didn’t plan this hulking alien dude, but it is easily the best of what I produced during a underwhelming outing.
It’s sorta on the same plate, since I was trying to get to the meat by eating around the edge of the potato, but not really what I wanted.
Even this morning I didn’t care for it, but it’s amazing what color can do. The lighting and the effects really helped a lot. It’s not great, but it’s better.
Well here it is another week and another Doodle. I have a Mercury one page comic for you all, but I had a loooooooot of trouble trying to scan and clean it up. So I decided to give you a pinup of Mercury in her latest design. This was not as easy as I had hoped it would be because WordPress has made some design changes that won’t let me make a blog the way i used to. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Adventure My Friend.
It’s good to be finishing the first ever TAG! adventure. I would say that I learned more about what I don’t know than what I do, but I am proud to have finished a story. I know that I have more TAG! stories in me and I think that Hoose Too has so more Yurit (I’m planning on a one pager next week) but I think that we will try some other things before we get back to the next story (I already have ideals on the next story).
Thanks for reading along and for the feedback. I plan to clean up this first one for a print version and when I do that I will make a pdf that puts it all together.
Snack Time
I like that last panel. Not sure it works, but I like it. Riot is supposed to be trying to figure out the Translator. I’d noticed a couple of weeks ago that Hoose One was drawing it slightly differently then Hoose Two (being me) was. So I knew that at some point it’d have to be modified to look the same. Riot is trying to do that now, I think this might be where some of the problems arise.
