Introducing Hoose du Jour

Whoa- you guys start with that?

Whoa- you guys start with that?

The new year brings with it a new feature of Doodlehoose! Introducing Hoose du Jour. It’s the one panel comic that comes and goes at will because if you don’t start something there won’t be something.

2013 in review- Look what we did

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 13,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Pinch Hitting by Nemo

Fresh calamari anyone?

Fresh calamari anyone?

Didn’t have time to make something fresh for this week so I pulled out this rainy day illustration of my spin on Captain Nemo. The book doesn’t include the bald, but I just think it works.

Superman

I’m not really happy with this one, it took forever to get to a place where I was even close to happy-ish… but here’s Superman.

Advent

For Unto Us a Child is Born

For Unto Us a Child is Born

Today is the last Sunday of Advent. The most important holidays for a Christian are Christmas and Easter. This is my attempt to capture an idea that eluded me.

Minimal Spider-Man

Another minimalist hero.

Rishon Rune

Rishon Rune Cover No Text Rishon Rune Cover Round 3This week’s post is an illustration that I did for my cousin Derek V. Trout. He wrote a fantasy novel about a boy who ends up discovering by way of magical portal that he’s an elfin prince. He asked me to do a fantasy cover and this is what I came up with.

DoodleHoose Too took a run at it as well and I like his minimalist approach better.

The Dark Knight… ish

So, everything I tried lately has come out… blah.  Last night I drew some blah to prepare for today, so that I’d have something to post this week.  I missed last week.  So I set the blah on the scanner and the scanner rejected it… time and again.

So, I built something on the computer, that way I wouldn’t have to scan it… it’s sorta blah… but it’s Bat-blah and even Bat-blah is better than nothing.

The Middleman Atlantis

Wendy Mer Watson

Don’t ask me. I’m just the Middleman.

This week’s post is half of a drawing that I am trying to get together for a Project Rooftop redesign of the Middleman. If I don’t get the other half done than I am submitting this alone just for fun. The deadline is the 4th so I have to hurry.
