Just decided to draw this old man, then decided to show the progress.
First scanned, set as Grayscale and adjusted contrast. Then one layer of base color. Add a layer of highlight and shadow. Then a final layer of black & white extreme contrast, with the layer set to Soft Light. That’s how I got there.
I love it. I’ve been wondering about your technique lately and I like the tutorial feel of the post.
I know it’s not the point of this post, but would like to see you do one where the person is aging and starts with vibrant colors that as they age turn sepia and then fade out all together.
