Agent Carter
My wife and I have been enjoying Agent Carter and so I made this cartooned version of their publicity shot (pictured below).

Aliens Taste Way for Ducklings
So last week J promised Aliens and here they are. This was a craft that we made during the February break.
J says this a cautionary artwork that tells you to, “Watch out for aliens that might be at your door. And, hid your ducks.”
When building the artwork J made two ducks so that one would be him and one would be his little brother.
J says next we’re going to have dinosaurs in your face!

What do You See?
This week is completely random. Well at least it started that way. I had a class that was already a day ahead of all the other classes on the day before a week long break. Only three students showed up so I didn’t want to launch into a brand new major project and this one was born. Inspired by Rorschach tests, we took black acrylic paint and dripped it onto a pieces of paper and folded it. Then you had to look for something in the blots that you could use and adjust the painting. I thought mine looked like a cool helmet so I put a face in it. You should try this too and see what you come up with.

Legos are gonna explode (because he has a bomb)
Here’s Doodlehoose Jr.’s second post and it’s getting wild. He’s got the sun blazing and the marker that was supposed to make this guy’s clothes orange actually ended up making him look naked.
J says the caption for this picture is, “You should use explosives to go fishing. It’s a better way of catching fish.”
J said the story behind this picture is that last week he said Legos were supposed to be next week and this is next week (keep up dad).
Also here’s a bonus of a snake that J drew using Photoshop and a Wacom Tablet
J says that this is a snake, you can see it has hands. This is the first drawing that I did today before the lego drawing.
J says thank you for liking my art! Next time we’re gonna do aliens.

Trying Something New, Nothing Borrowed, but Some Things Blue
I was very excited last week when my six year old said that he wanted to start posting on Doodlehoose as well. This site started out as a way for me to share my art with the world and make sure that I was creating every week. After a while I was able to convince my younger brother to join in the fun as Doodlehoose Too, and then the site became a way for the two of use to communicate over distance and with our art. My wife (she’s the one on the moose) has dropped in a cameo or two as well, and with my son taking on Wednesdays it seemed like time for redesign. Up top is the new logo, and I haven’t quite worked out the new theme yet. I’m frustrated with how the banner is coming out blurry when the source material is not.
Anyway we have a new theme, a new logo, and a new schedule. Give us feedback and look for more changes as we go.

The Werewolf Has Arisen
This Wednesday introduces the amazingly talented Doodlehoose Jr. (J). Doodlehoose Jr. is six years old and looking forward to sharing his art with you. Come back on Wednesdays and check it out. He may not be able to get something up every week (after all it is his first year of school), but he’s gonna try.
J drew this werewolf and created the title so that you could have a little Halloween in February. Daddy (Robert Hoose) scanned it and added the black at his son’s command.
J gave us this story to go with the illustration. Oh no, the Werewolf has got me!
Come back next week. We’re going to do Lego drawings next week.
