L’Engle

You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.

Many love the stories created by Madeleine L’Engle, but only those who truly believe realized that she was a unicorn as well.

You can obviously tell that the reference photo was taken by an unbeliever.

Inspiration usually comes during work, rather than before it.

“but for my own part, if a book is well written, I always find it too short.”

“I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them a great deal.”

“I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them a great deal.”

I liked Matt’s theme of literary figures and decided that we needed to add Jane Austen. I love her dialogue and grasp of character. She makes such fun and insightful characters that I don’t even mind the sappy endings.

Jane is well known for her keen wit and insight into the human condition. She is less well known for her mastery of the two-handed claymore favored by William Wallace and all warrior poets.

Here’s my color version.

“What is right to be done cannot be done too soon.”

Below is the reference that I worked from. It’s a flipped and colored version of an etching that I found, but didn’t find the attribution.

A painting of an etching made from a sketch by Jane's sister's drawing of her (I don't know who painted or etched it, but I copied from it since google didn't have any photos of Jane ;))
