Obsessed with Wonder Woman

For this week’s post I dug into my rainy day fund. Our family vacation grew a day and I didn’t anticipate getting back home at 10:20 on the day I need to post. So here is Wonder Woman flying into a dive.

The title of this week’s blog is an admission. I had a friend look around my house and ask who had the obsession with Wonder Woman. I didn’t think anyone in the family did, but after looking around at the Wonder Woman merchandise I’ve purchase “for my wife” and noticing how many times I end up drawing her I have to admit the problem- that is the first step isn’t it? So I admit that I am obsessed with Wonder Woman.

Enjoy a bonus coloring page

Caption Contest

Caption Contest

Do you have any idea how fast you were going?

Sometimes I’ll put a drawing on Facebook with a word bubble, but no words. I call it a Caption Contest and I award a Marvel style NO PRIZE. (By that I mean, nobody gets nothing)

This is my latest Caption Contest. I have an idea what the officer is saying, but it’s so much more fun to see what you all think?

So, what do you think he’s saying?

And now for some Photoshop

A game for when you find yourself in a Post-Apocalyptic word

This Monday’s post is an image I put together for a very good friend who is developing his own card game. I used a photo that I took of rust, a photo I took of a rusty hole and the outline of a bullet I found online (I don’t happen to have any bullets).

Groo the Wanderer

A little Groo the Wanderer fan art for this Friday.  I didn’t really nail the likeness with the first drawing, but I think I did a better job on the second one.

Groo wins

Groo victorious

better work on the hands

Needs work on the hands

I’m clearly no Sergio Argones… but it was fun drawing these and the old Groo comic that inspired them was a good read. (although I guess all Groo comics are old at this point)

Space Girl Stealing

So this is where Forrestal cashed in.

Here she is again acquiring treasures for her museum. I don’t think this acquisition works out quite as well as she would like. I think that gold figure is really a prisoner and not a statue. She’s going to be surprised when she releases it.

If you saw last Monday’s post, you’ll probably notice some tweaking to her uniform. It’s not quite where I want it. I also took a sweep at drawing her in a more realistic and tighter style. I haven’t had time to color this one yet, but it may pop up in the future.

I’m not sure if she is getting back from a space walk or going to one, but he just heard something…

I also realized that her character bears a small resemblance to Cleopatra in Space by Mike Maihack http://www.cowshell.com/cleopatra/ so I’ll have to tweak that too. Overall I don’t know where she’s going, but I like the start.

An oldy but a goody

Safety first

To Protect and Serve

Here’s an old one.  I made a fresh new sketch for this week, but didn’t get it scanned.  This one has been around for awhile, but it hasn’t been here before.

So here it is.  Enjoy.

Spacegirl Spiff?

Spiffy

This week’s post was supposed to be just a warm up. I got going and liked it so much I inked it, then I added a ship and I couldn’t stop myself from coloring it.

I don’t know her name yet, but I know that she’s sort of a female Indiana Jones in space. She believes that historical alien and human artifacts should be protected and that the best place to keep them safe is in her museum (regardless of how they get there). She knows how to handle a space ship, how to properly cite her sources, and she’s handy with a blaster. She’s not afraid of snakes (in fact she’s friends with several nice ones from Rebus 13), and she’s looking for the ultimate in primary sources.

I know we’ll see more of her (because I have a sketch done already and I’m coloring it) and I think that we might see some friends and exploits too (probably not all of that next week).

Who… Me?

Save our world

Yes… You!

I’m not really sure what’s going on here, but I know Earthworm Jim played a part in it’s creation.

I just wanted to draw something weird and this came out.  I think the flying thing is asking for help from the worm thing.  The worm thing doesn’t really think he’s up to the task.

Sometimes you have to fight

Sometimes you have to fight for what’s right

This week’s post is my very first crossover. Comic books do it all the time, so I’m plunging in. The folks over at http://www.themarriagefight.com/blog/ comissioned me to do an illustration for their banner. They also happen to be my cousin and her husband so not quite Hooses, but an honorable mention for sure.

The illustration above is my attempt to capture that moment right after you put the rings  and your dukes up. Marriage is not easy (it’s made out of people) and if you want to succeed at it you (and your spouse) will have to be willing to fight all the things that will try to tear you apart (even when it’s your own fault). So married folks imagine you’re the size of some wedding toppers and get into position. You have to watch each others’ backs!

Protect the source

Just an idea.

Protecting the source of their power

Maintaining balance and defending their master against all threats, even themselves.  They are The Four Chans.
